Lonely Bar

Written by CA Roth 2012

If you’re lookin’ for conversation this aint no place to be
Where quite desperation seems the order of the day
And on Saturday night sergeant Pepper and his lonely hearts club meet
And they take their chairs of sorrow sitting quietly

Down at the lonely bar playing games of solitaire
Wishing on a single star it’s a glass of amber grain
I stare until your face appears just to drink it gone again
A crystal ball of lonesome pain where the ghosts of love remain

The jukebox is all loaded with lost love and despair
It’s on a one way street called sadness at the dead end of a dream
It’s where they go the folks you know who’ve lost all hopes and cares
And if it’s solitude you’re searching for you’ll find it there
